Action drop usually refers to FIR closed for lack of evidence. The police will file a charge sheet in the court saying there is no evidence to prosecute the accused and the court upon taking cognizance will close the same. Unless the de facto complainant files a protest petition. However if you must get the exact details share the copy of FIR.
Action drop means the police have not filed a charge sheet and then cancelled the FIR.
Police will then submit the reasons for cancellation of FIR to the court and then take court permission to cancel the FIR.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, the action dropped report, dated 31.08.2018, is hereby set aside. There shall be a direction to the respondent to hand over the entire CD file to the District Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram, within a period of 10 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. The District Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram, is directed to conduct a fresh investigation in this case after getting all the necessary details from the petitioner and proceed with the case in accordance with law and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.
