Agricultural land can only be used for farming. In states like Telangana, anyone can buy agricultural land, irrespective of whether they are farmers or not. However in other states, like Karnataka, only registered farmers or those from farming families can buy agricultural land. Therefore, the rules related to agricultural land vary from state to state.
Farm roads are an aimportant means of transportation of farm produce and farm requirements.
If passing places or berms known as shoulders are provided 2.4 m to 3.0 m (8 ft. to 10 ft.) wide roads are sufficient for running through fields.
The berm is the space available from the road edge to the edge of the drain and it should be a minimum of 1.2m (4 ft.). Hence the width of roads including the drains wil come to a minimum of 7.2 m to 9.0 m (24 ft. to 30 ft.) for ordinary roads.
In other words, the said route must be of reasonable width. Even though it is not expressly mentioned, though, it must be wide enough for 2 motorbikes to pass or wide enough to cross the said way.
You can ask the concerned authority and ask for path showing map and particular survey map as a information to revenue authority [tahsildhar] through Right to Information Act 2005.
