Typically, rent agreements are executed for a tenure of 11 months.
However, you can enter into an agreement for a longer period as well. .
Also, clarify about the lock-in period, during which neither the tenant nor the landlord can terminate the agreement, and ensure it’s mentioned in the agreement as well.
Lock-in clause says that tenant cannot leave rented property before specified period.
In case tenant decide to leave the rented property before lock in period he/she needs to pay the rented amount for the lock-in period as specified in rent agreement.
The lock-in period is the minimum tenure of the lease.
